Privacy Policy

This is a collaborative wiki project run by the SETI Post-Detection Hub.

It is not run by the Wikimedia Foundation; it is a third-party project that uses MediaWiki software and is administered by researchers at the SETI Post-Detection Hub as part of the Hub’s commitment to education and research around the world.

This page summarises the privacy expectations for contributors and visitors to the SETI Post-Detection Wiki, and how your information may be used or shared, modelled on the Privacy Policy of Wikimedia Commons.

This wiki uses standard MediaWiki logging for performance and security monitoring. By contributing to this wiki, you agree to publish your edits under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). Your contributions are publicly visible and permanently associated with your username or IP address in the page history.

Wikis collect and retain limited technical data (such as browser type, IP address, and timestamps) in server logs. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties beyond what is legally required.

We are committed to:

• Emails and feedback sent to the admin team may be visible to administrators.
• Our community of volunteer editors and contributors is a self-policing body. Certain administrators, chosen by the community, use tools that grant them limited access to nonpublic information about recent contributions during troubleshooting and for site protection and policy enforcement.
