Many consider Red Dead Redemption 2 to be Rockstar's magnum opus, and rightfully so, considering it's one of the best representations of a meticulously designed open world title. To this day, you'll find fans and critics praising not just the story but also how utterly rich and dense the attention to detail is at the c

In a surprising social media post, Bethesda revealed that it has donated a bundle to the Make-A-Wish Foundation's auction. The highest bidder for the company’s package will have the opportunity to make a character for Starfield . In addition, the auction winner will walk away with an Xbox Series X, recalling that Bethesda recently announced that it would be acquired by the console’s creators , and sixteen titles from the studio. Several of the games seem to come from some of Bethesda’s most popular franchises including The Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein , and Doom . At the time of writing, the ongoing bidding for the Bethesda bundle is just north of $2,000. Interestingly, the auction’s website goes into slightly more detail about what the winner can expect than the studio's post. It states that the highest bidder can look forward to working with the team behind the game, naming Todd Howard specifically, and that the winner should expect to " schedule time to create the character within 3 months of 2/28/202

Starfield creator Bethesda Game Studios is helping to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Mid-Atlantic chapter’s Evening of Wishes: Hope from Home auction by donating an eye-catching prize: the chance for the auction’s winner to create a character in the studio’s anticipated science-fiction title. Starfield was first announced during Bethesda’s E3 showcase back in 2018 standing alongside games like Rage 2, Doom Eternal , and the company's long-awaited next entry in the Elder Scrolls series . However, like The Elder Scrolls VI , Starfield ’s E3 reveal consisted of a short trailer that showed off little of the actual g

Jumping from Fallout 3 to Fallout 4, we also saw huge improvements to the shooting and combat. But when looking at melee combat in those games alongside The Elder Scrolls series, most players will tend to avoid close-up combat at all costs. There are modern RPGs aplenty that have done sword and hand-to-hand combat extremely well, and Bethesda only needs to look at what those games have done and then apply it to the next Elder Scrolls g

Todd Howard attempted to answer some of these questions, in an interview with Eurogamer . When asked about what gamers could expect from Starfield , Howard was quick to emphasize Bethesda's devotion to developing unique, high-quality games, while avoiding direct comparisons to either The Elder Scrolls or Fallo

If that is indeed the case, it may herald a gradual overhaul of how players purchase and play games. It could lead to a phase out of physical and digital one-time purchase copies in favor of monthly subscription streaming services. Bethesda's status as a prolific studio with a considerable degree of clout may make it the standard bearer for such a revolution, or at the very least, the forerunner in Microsoft's ongoing studio acquisition campa

In a new digital interview conducted with Todd Howard during the Brighton Digital 2020 conference, the highly anticipated original Starfield IP from Bethesda has finally become less of a mystery. As revealed by one of the studio's foremost developers, the game will be strictly single-player with no multiplayer components included, and it's being developed with mod support in mind. Howard also shared that Starfield is expected to become the biggest game for the studio so far, as the development team is using procedural generation to create huge landmasses as part of the level design process, while cities will be larger in scale and more expansive. Additionally, the team itself is roughly 4 to 5 times bigger than the number of developers involved in creating Skyrim or Fallout

Recently, Howard took part in a Develop:Brighton Conference . During a conversation with James Batchelor of GamesIndustry.biz, Howard revealed that while Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 are still a ways off, they'll be available on Xbox Game Pass on the first day of their respective releases. This confirms speculation on how Bethesda would handle its future releases . Howard also dropped a few more tidbits about the two anticipated titles, including that Starfield Money guide|Https://starfieldgalaxy.com/ will eschew multiplayer in favor of a singleplayer format and will be in a universe even bigger than Fallout

In Skyrim, you could become almost anything and everything at the same time, and in Fallout: New Vegas , your allegiances determined what direction that story would ultimately go in. Bethesda needs to take those two things and apply and refine them for the world at large. If I join the Dark Brotherhood, that should directly affect the way I'm seen by other people, factions, and individuals. Maybe the Thieves Guild doesn't care that I'm an assassin on the sideline, but that also doesn't mean I should so easily be welcomed amongst the Imperial forces. Small things like this break immersion and make me feel too powerful. Things like this remind me that I'm in a "game" world -- a world that responds to me unnaturally -- versus a world that feels alive and reacts ore noticeably to what I
